Now with decaying US influence in Europe, the EU will probably open itself for South America again

if you're for it, you're the fifth column
we can't hold our farmers to a bunch of standards in the name of health and safety and ecology only to flood our market with cheap shit from all over the world who don't meet any of those standards

I don't give a fuck about these regulations.

>>
>>218278796
>we can't hold our farmers to a bunch of standards in the name of health and safety and ecology
we should. soil and resource sustainability for me, but not for thee. if the south americans are willing to destroy their soils and other resources for our benefit, so be it. the money we save on importing their cheap exports can go straight to the pockets of our farmers, everybody (in europe) wins, Brazil et al. lose.
>>
>>218278922
But do we need to have millions of small farmers who act as a powerful voting block?
Why not delegate farming to the big industry, that can be properly regulated and monitored?
>>
>>218278957
Everybody wins when things become cheaper
Cars and electronics are cheaper in Germany than all of south america

That trade deal is garbage. It has a lot of safeguards to protect european farmers and little safeguards to protect our industry.

>farmers produce, they're the opposite of a parasite
in austria 70% of a farmers income is subsidies...
the average austrian farmer has 60 pigs and 20 cows, we have 10 times more farmers per achre of farmland than america. our farmers are also the wealthiest group of people in the country, thanks to subsidies, tax exemptions galore and land ownership.
>>
We need to import big BOOTY latinas. It's all for show because I only have a 6 inch penis
>>
>>218280221
sounds awesome
>>
>>218278922
they leach money from the gorvernment and stop the imports of food which is somehow still cheaper despite the subsidies
they're a class of lifestyle farmers leaching off of modern society
on top of that they export this subsidized food in the few cases where it is actually cheaper then foreign produce
>>
>>218280285
yeah, if youre a farmer, but when i go in the supermarket i cry, we have the highest food prices in the world. and farmers still say its too cheap and we have to pay them more.
>>
>>218278922
Please, your farmers don't even produce their own dirt, they import it.

Are you serious? Mercosur is as anti-European as it gets. We should never ever make yourself dependent on others when it comes to the most basic, strategic assets such as food.
>>218278704
Absolutely.
>>218278725
Your sheer hypocrisy and/or retardation is insane. It's a deal that will be good for germ car industry and catastrophical for any and all European farmers and consumers. What was even the point of establishing all the high quality norms if you're just gonna replace it all with SA's cheap unregulated slop? I thought shutting down nuclear plants was the peak of german stupidity, but it just never ends, does it?
>>
>>218278973
>BIG INDUSTRY GOOD
oh yeah, I love big pharma and military industrial complex, most trustworthy people on the planet. What the fuck is wrong with you? Merging into a giant blob doesn't make it easier to monitor, it's precisely the opposite. They can be completely corrupt and get away with it every time.

>Are you serious? Mercosur is as anti-European as it gets. We should never ever make yourself dependent on others when it comes to the most basic, strategic assets such as food.
food security is important, but we don't need the current levels of subsidies to be food secure
the EU produces 531 billion euros worth of food
it exports 234 billion and imports 195 billion, making for a 39 billion euros worth of food as a net export
this number changes between years, but in general it's a significant percentage of total production
if we just let more farmers fail we'd still have a food security, we'd have more efficient farms (as the shit ones die out and have their land bought out) and we'd save money from the EU budget

Yes especially the wages.
