The reason ancient East wasnt as innovative as ancient West was because the Abrahamic religions actually prompt their followers to seek for higher things (God) than their rulers, while chink religions either told the citizens to be good goys and accept their servitude fate (Confucianism) or just straight-up telling them to do nothing and just go with the flow (Daoism) or however the Emperor tells you to die
