(pic related)Welcome to /flag/ + /extraflags/, a comfy 130 IQ general for Extraflags users that combines your passions for geography, maps AND travel by using the Extraflags extensionThreadly activities include travelposting (local trips are welcome too :^), urbex, wilderness exploration, hunting for radioactive minerals, eclipse and aurora hunting, (extra)flag collecting, map filling, cycling across Europe, other autistic activities and overall funposting>What is Extraflags?Extraflags is an open-source browser userscript that lets you choose regional flags, like states and provinces, to add to your already existing default country flag.Turns out it's very well suited for travel posting because you can flex with the ultrarare (or at least, nice) flags you're travelling to, rather than using it as a reddit flair for tripfagging in other (low iq) threadsInstructions for installing Extraflags: https://flagtism.gitlab.io/Extra-Flags-for-4chan/Gitlab repository: https://gitlab.com/flagtism/Extra-Flags-for-4chan/-/issues>How does this workInfographics: https://gitlab.com/flagtism/Extra-Flags-for-4chan/-/raw/master/misc/info.png>Collecting flags? @Manhattanthe flag in this post >>218148611 (El Omraniya, Giza Governorate, Egypt) is present in the recent flags API but is not downloaded by your flagdump script. try yourself
>>218298134nah it actually showed that on my car
i have a few flags for (You)Chiusiquite fittingly, every electronics store was closed. this prevented me from buying a mouse and making flags during the following 5 hours train ride
CittΓ della Pievecrossing the border into Umbria just because i can
Cetonaevery single corner of this region is so easily scenic it's ridiculous. this valley, called Valdichiana, is one in the system of valleys connecting Florence and Rome. Goethe, in his "Italian Journey", described this valley as one of the most beautiful agrarian landscapes he had every seen. I can't disagree indeed
it doesn't snow too often at these latitudes btw, it was a lucky coincidence that the day happened to be the day i had to go to Rome
Sarteanoslightly stepping into the other side of the mountain and barely seeing the landscape on the other side before the cloud came in and made a freezing whiteoutbut no worries, that happens to be the area of Monte Amiata, world famous cinnabar mineralogical locality. aka, we'll definitely hear about that again here on /flag/ :^)
bonus flag from my midnight train changes: i had time to do a little tour of Bologna. I even had time to investigate local geology (the hills behind Bologna are rich in gypsum, a common but pretty mineral, and many monuments in the city like the leaning towers are made of its rock Selenite)hence, we'll definitely hear again about this province too :^) not only for minerals reasons, but hiking too: the high Bolognese Apennines were so stunning when i passed through by train, all snowed, that now i want to go therealso, that's it
>>218309501Awesome OP. I'm proud>>218315461>>218315515>>218315632>>218315825Very literature pilled
>>218309514seems like >>218148697 was posted and deleted with the same flags as >>218148611the recent flag endpoint returns the newest post for each flag, which in this case was the deleted post. it didnt get country data scraped before deletion so the dump script then ignored it.i just changed the API to not return posts without country data. now >>218148611 is returned, which the script uses.
