Once upon a time in Carcassonne, there was a formidable ruler named Count Loui. Born to unknown parents in 1040, Loui was a talented steward who had no name or lineage. Despite his humble beginnings, he had a gift for governance that couldn't be ignored. After serving as a steward to the Duke of Toulouse in his youth, the Count was granted the coveted county of Carcassonne in exchange for his sterling services.

Loui soon met and fell in love with a landless albino noblewoman from Sweden. Despite being from different worlds, they sh
Toulouse. Unable to stand aside and remain neutral, Loui joined the rebellion. Despite not wanting any trouble, his actions helped to depose the Duke. He was honored to become the Chancellor for the newly appointed Duke of Toulouse.

Things took a turn for the worse when the Count's wife fell gravely ill with pneumonia and passed away. Though he vowed to remain single for a while, he eventually realized that his children needed a mother. In due time, he met and fell in love with a commoner from Poland named Zofia. He learned to speak her language and did everything he could to make her feel at home.

As Count Loui was expanding his rule,ne war, he surrendered without any resistance, believing that the 2000 strong army descending upon him were mercenaries hired by his enemy. Unfortunately, they were really coming to fight his liege, and Loui's surrender led to his sacking. Desperate to recover losses from the war, he discovered a scheme to make unimportant noble titles and sell them to commoners hoping to climb up the social ladder.

Count Loui was thoroughly committed to his hustle and regularly expanded his territories, which he found to be an irresistible source of gold. However, old age caught up with him in the middle of another expansion war, and he passed away.

1. Zhuāngzǐ 庄子 and Huìzǐ 惠子 were strolling on a bridge over the River Háo 濠.

2. Zhuāngzǐ said: "The fish are out swimming about. That is the 'Joy of Fish.'"

3. Huìzǐ replied: "You are not a fish; from what do you know the joy of fish?"

4. Zhuāngzǐ said: "You are not I; from what do you know whether I know the joy of fish?"

5. Huìzǐ reposted: "I am not you, and so I can't know. It follows that since you are not a fish, you can't know the joy of fish. So there!"

6. Zhuāngzǐ answered him: "The thing is, when you asked, 'From what can you know the joy of fish?' you already knew that I knew this in order to ask me what I knew it from. I knew it from the bridge over the River Háo!"

Is the Tao the same concept as "the egg" in Andy Weir's short story??

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6fcK_fRYaI

or is it similar to Indra's net in hinduism? are they the same? this "fabric" of conscious reality that binds us all?

Tao is not for you, that meaning the person and identity you think you are. That thing won't get relief, status or happiness from Tao.

Tao can't be named or described, touched or conceived. When you're ready to die, Tao will fill your essence.
>>
in all seriousness - this type of religious nonsense is incredibly stupid and doesn't actually help anyone develop spiritually
>>
>>218629816
How do you explain its success?
>>
Basically there are currents of energy flowing around the universe and taoism teaches you to transform your body in order to better absorb/attract these currents and hold onto the energy you have which leads you to live a longer life

No, the Tao is actually the thing behind nature. Because the ancient Chinese were very retard, they didn't know why they existed, why time moves forward, why water flows, or why stars are in the sky. They felt that there must be something behind these things driving them, but they didn't know what it was called, so they called it Tao.
You can think of Tao as some kind of natural mechanism. Or as an impersonal god; it's all the same.
>>
>>218629966
Do you know why you exist?
Do you know why time moves forward?

Why are you acting like this is just simple stuff they don't understand lmao

I don't know why I exist, which is why modern Chinese people haven't changed the name of the Dao, because we still don't know what the Dao truly is.

I think it would be more reasonable for everything to cease to exist. But I don't know why I exist.

Are there animals that lay down and die without fighting?

Which one is "resistance"?
>>

I was big into Taosim untill i found Christ. Without solid doctine Taoism erodes into superstition and degeneracy, like it is now in China. Also you need to define le good to be le good because "good" exists, which comes from god, which Taoists deny. Still more close to the TRVTH of Christ than 99% of the garbage out there (ehich is not very close but closer)

Even 2,000 years ago, Taoism was rejected by mainstream society, who considered it something only idle people would believe in. They often consumed hallucinogenic plants and compounds that caused body heat.
Furthermore, Taoism viewed death as an eternal state of "doing nothing," which they considered the most comfortable state.

This religion exists solely because its founder was so great.
