>Shower and get dressed very leisurely, maybe another half hour
>Make and eat lunch, watch some YouTube afterwards, ~1 hour

>Start working around 15:00-16:00
>Clock out at 18:00 and collect half an hour of overtime for a hard day's work well done
Am I winning dad?

If your "job" is something that can be done remotely, then it was always some useless bullshit

>assigned to ED this month
>Wake up at 5.30 AM
>Hit snooze and almost sleep in before I remember that I am an adult now and will never have a relaxed morning again until I'm on death's doorstep
>Brush teeth, shower, crack open a white monster and drink just enough before I get into the car to not spill it in retarded city traffic
>Get to work at 6.40 AM, parking is already a bitch to find
>Get into the ED at 6.55, everyone else is already there for 7 AM handoff so they started without me
>Get told off by my senior immediately afterwards for being "late"
>See 8 patients in 4 hours, last one ends up being a surgical emergency so my lunch "break" is gone
>End up eating lunch at like 2 PM, another white monster + shitty hospital cafeteria food while typing notes
>Back to seeing patients for another 5 hours, somehow still too slow for my upper level despite seeing as many patients as she did
>Flub my handoff at 7 PM
>Finally take a piss
>Drive home
>Dinner is a sandwich, alone for the 4th year straight while studying for step 3
>Pass out at 9

I love my life!

I've been doing the same for almost 5 years now, it's 15:00 and the only thing i've done so far is request a new access to the DBA and join the daily meeting at 10am. did almost 3 hours of lunch break lmao. Anyway, apparently my company is returning to the office in 3 months so i have to enjoy the most i can for now.

I make less than a McDonald's shift manager per hour

Are you training to become a doctor, or nurse slaving?
>>
>>218772465
I am a doctor already, welcome to the reality of American medicine.

where are those 500k a year salaries people told me about
>>
>>218772658
Only for attendings in very specific specialties who are working 60+ hrs a week
>>
>>218772497
At least you get paid well then, and can open your own office at some point

>wake up at 6am
>get ready for work, leave house by 6:35am
>arrive at work just before 7:00am
>generally do whatever I want in a warehouse. Either do some degree of work, listen to podcast, look at stuff on phone, eat whatever I brought whenever I want.
>official lunch break around 1:00pm
>return to doing whatever I want u til I go home on 5:00pm.
The only difference is I will be doing the yard work in the summer so it will get a bit more work focused.
>>
>wake up 7am
>do puzzles to wake up my brain, along with a cup of coffee
>start working remotely at 8, only pay half attention while doing some chores
>eat lunch at 12, frozen homemade food i order from a place nearby
>back to work at 13:30
>focus for like 2 hours
>work at half focus until 18
>gym, shower and whatever i want until midnight, maybe 1am
>earn more than a lot of boomers i know who chose a career of only being home to sleep for 5 hours
And i still could do better
>>
>>218773079
No and no lol
Opening a private practice is a thing of the past unless you go into the deepest parts of bumfuckistan where nobody can even pay you and everybody's health is shit because they listened on the AM radio to trump saying that they have to eat at least 15 big macs a day and ban abortion to be in tip top shape

Miss me with that shit
>>
>>218773607
IT is really one of the best wageslaving options out there if you're capable of not going insane from remote work
>>
>>218775137
It's the only thing keeping me here, i've grown to hate IT over the years, but my alternatives are so absurdly worse/way too risky
