Macro economic policy and it's consequences are actually pretty easy to predict.. when it's just that particular policy. It's the million other variables that make it increasingly difficult to do

you can predict economies but very specific ones. when talking about the current economy that is primarily facilitated by globalized trade/finance/shipping it is inherently unpredictable because it's actors are humans and human actions cant be predicted in by current science.

said economy also has a lot of adversarial relationships where certain actors are incentivised to hide/obfuscate/not share information and act in ways their adversaries cant predict so its partially predictable.

Can't really blame them to be honest—hasn't been any breakthroughs or revelations in economics in some time. 2025 Nobel Prize in economics demonstrates that
