I went to Greece and you can't flush toilet paper there. WTF? Birthplace of European civilization my ass, you are too dumb to figure out how to make slightly bigger pipes?
>>
>>218777257
yeah it's crazy how some countries just have poop stained toilet paper in their trash bin. what the fuck
>>
same here, we keep a small bin next to the toilet
until recently i thought this was standard internationally (except where they shit on the street or where wash their ass afterwards)
>>
>>218777257
you can't do it in hotels or rather you're advised not to, but you can certainly do it.
my parents have a house in greece and i can tell you i've flushed many a toilet paper there
>>
>>218777309
Don't get started on their heating situation.

Czechia and Slovenia are less Eastern European than Greeks are
>>
>>218777416
>>218777431
Why don't you replace it? It must stink like hell in your bathrooms.
>>
>>218777478
replace what? like i said they advise not to flush because "pipes can't handle" it or whatever but they can. you can flush away
>>
remember when I was young greece just had holes in the ground that you took a shit in

they peaked a long time ago
>>
>>218777618
The pipes, with bigger ones
>>
>>218777783
>when your peak is older than some languages
Yikes. How do they not kill themselves?
>>
>>218777257

(Greek: ξύλον, xylon)
"sponge on a stick"
traditionally been assumed to be a type of shared anal hygiene utensil used to wipe after g
>>
Greece really looks like a third world shithole, even compared to most of eastern EU countries
>>
Yeah it sucks.
>>
>>218777956
I've actually worked odd jobs in construction during university, but never (outside of very simple fixes in my home) touched plumbing, ever.

Give me qrd why you can't flush paper and why it can't be fixed with bigger pipes
>>
greece is charming place but food costs the same as Sweden, no idea how the greeks get by.
>>
>>218778252
It can be fixed with bigger pipes. New houses have them.
But almost all buildings in Athens downtown are from the 50s-60s, and the apartment buildings especially are divided between the owners of each individual apartment, so good luck convincing everyone to change the whole plumbing, especially when people are so used to the shit bins that they even keep them in the newer houses where they don't really need them.

(I live in a 60s building, but I use 1 or 2 ply toilet paper, it is easily disolvable, so I just flush the paper after shitting without problem. If I use wet wipes though I have to throw them in the shit bin).

Yes, give us free fertilizer goyim :^D

This is the thirdie certificate. If you have this iyc, you are 100% a thirdie.

at the very least it requires tearing down the floor where the pipes run, no one's going to dish out the cost of that just because they don't like the bin
in many cases you couldn't even fit larger pipes through the holes that the bricks have even if you wanted to
>>
>>218777257
Curious indeed. Especially for a non constipated country.

I would not stay anywhere built before the 1980's
stop being broke
stop enabling shit hotels/inns
>>

>>218778558
do you get used to the shit smell after a while or take it out immediately, because i could not imagine having shit stained paper sitting 8in the bathroom
>>
Medoids are poorfags and the only reason we have infrastructure at all is because the Roman empire built some. :-DD
Though this particular problem doesn’t exist in Turkey I think because my dad’s flat is from like 50s or maybe even before and even it doesn’t have such problem.

>>218778381
Wet wipes are not flushable in any case.
>>
I think it's more like a suggestion, I stayed for a month in Athens and everyone flushed the toilet paper in the toilet anyway
>>
>>218778558
>>218778381
So it's a fucking non-issue and a thing that easily can be done during your next bathroom renovation? Bro I thought it's some bigger problem.
You guys don't do renovations of your houses? Here normal family makes a renovation of at least some rooms every ~15/20 years. Especially to update the installations like plumbing or wiring.
I would do renovation of my bathroom just to get rid of the bin - it's insanatory, you're spreading bacteria everywhere.
>>
>>218778595
It happen in restaurants too

Stop being thirdie
>>
>>218778381
why does only Greece have this problem anyway?
>>
>>218778658
Unless you pick up whole pieces of shit with the paper and put it in the bin, it doesn't get too bad during the day. Still need to take the bag outta the bin and throw it with the garbage every day ofc. Keep in mind, these old buildings had bathrooms with bidets, so need for wiping was minimal anyway.

>>218778800
That's true, in most cases there won't be an issue if you flush the paper. But people usually don't risk clogging the whole apartment building's plumbings.

>>218778831
As said, in old apartment buildings which make up 99% of central Athens it's not a matter of renovating just your bathroom or apartment, but the entire building's piping. And everyone has to agree to share costs etc, so it never happens.

It's a shitty situation, no doubt about it. I hate it, but I can't really do anything other than making sure the house I buy eventually (lol as if that'll ever happen) has proper pipes installed.
>>
>>218778658
it doesn't smell, you're not shitting inside the bin
>>218778831
you'll most likely have to tear down the floor on other rooms as well, duh. it would be a several thousand euro job
>>
>>218779000
Alright, everybody using a bidet makes it a little better
