They are proud of the empire, especially now when you compare the quality of life of everywhere after it.
The US literally fought a war for independence from the empire over a disagreement on tax rates and having no representation in British parliament and now we're 100x worse than where we started. The british empire was rightful and correct and had the mandate of heaven to do what it pleased and that was to commit suicide. And so we live in the fallout of that decision today.
