The sea is meant for sailors: historically the most manly and difficult profession. The idea of just standing next to it indolent in the sun for hours like a negro repulses me.
there's a lagoon beach under a 25min drive, I haven't been there this year and haven't been actually in the water in almost 20 years
i go ~2-3 times a month (especially when it's a full or new moon) but only at the end of the afternoon when the sky has streaks of pink and orange, then i stay there sitting on the sand listening to music until the sky and ocean are the same shade of blacktook this picture last week

I live walking distance from the beach and I go maybe once a year
