I have the same interest, but most of the tech entrepreneurs, movie directors, scientists were not polyglots, usually they speak one language (English) or two (English and their native language). I think I am in the minority here, most parents would be happy that their child is fluent in a foreign language and it's clear you are a smart guy with discipline and consistency. People have a limited amount of stamina to study, so you could use your time to develop skills that would help you make more money. I think our purpose in life is to be as successful as we can be and contributing as much as possible as we can to make the world a better place and i dont think languages fit into that. That is what I struggle with, because I have an inclination towards languages. Polish is not a bad choice because at least you dont have to waste time learning another writing system. I think you post in /lang/ actually. If you think about the tech people and the scientists, many of them have created something that people who dont speak their language can use. In essence I am an asshole and a wannabe stemlord but I'm sure that Poles are also happy that you are learning their language and I said its a great choice because its not as time wasteful as other languages.
