Apparently Germany has the best wages in the EU, yet what you get paid here is a sad joke.
As someone with a M.Sc. in mechanical engineering you are gonna make about 5000€ gross on average. Deduct 40% taxes and that leaves you with 3000€ net.
That's 17 or 18 years of school if everything goes according to plan, during which you aren't gonna earn a dime.
https://www.gehalt.de/beruf/maschinenbauingenieur-maschinenbauingenieurin

Keep in mind that the best wages are paid in big, expensive cities like Munich and Stuttgart, an apartment there costs easily 1500€ per month.

How are other Euros doing it? The incentive to get an education is barely there for people in Germany, for you it must be non-existent.

You silverspoon niggers don't know how good you have it. But you are in right to complain I just needed to say that as a poorfag Siberian.
>>

this
Germans love to complain and whine though, it's embarrassing
>>
Btw there was a massive state-led wage dumping scheme a decade or two ago.
They made up the so called "Fachkräftemangel" (lack of specialists) which is defined in an extremely sketchy way.
If for one position there are less than 4 qualified people that's counted as a lack of specialists and foreigners with questionable credentials will be imported to fill that role.
Now there are tons of people who can't actually find a job in their field and if they do it's paid miserably.
>>
>>218800095
>40% taxes
The reality is darker than that. There are hidden pension + healthcare contributions paid for by your employer for every employee, you just don't see them. The actual tax burden is higher than 50% even if we discount stuff like religious tax

It's good by standards of shitholes like Russia or Poortugal but most Germans consider themselves American equals, so it's a bit shocking for them to get a degree just to earn as much as the guys in McDonald's in the Estados Unidos

All with 10% taxes.
Yeah, they have no welfare. There is short term monetary unemployment assistance from the state, but it has to be paid back once that person finds a job.
This is a good thing. Fair to the working population and fair to those in actual need. Only sucks for those who want to exploit free handouts, which is a good thing.

average american lives like in heaven compared to Russia, especially Siberia
>>
>>218800808
WTF are you talking about?
The link I posted:
https://www.gehalt.de/beruf/maschinenbauingenieur-maschinenbauingenieurin

That median of 5000€ net? That's for a full time position, 40 hours per week.

Yes, there are people who work less than 40 hours, because the wages are low anyways so in the mind of these people they might as well have more free time, they just work to get by, that's it.
In the EU wealth is mostly inherited anyways, unlike the US, where you CAN actually get rewarded for working your ass off.

Yes, a burger flipper in the EU is better off than a burger flipper in the US, but an engineer in the US is WAY better off than an engineer in the EU.

Besides hobbies, what else is there to put your expendable income to other than living in the past by buying an old house and an old car to live in with your old wife and your 1.38 autistic kids?
Yea, yea, kids are the place where money would go towards, giving them a good but firm childhood so that they may march into the darkness ahead prepared.
Or I guess you can start a business with the extra income.

I am probably depressed and without ambition, but it just feels like that despite living at allegedly peak consumerism to me it feels like there is nothing to consooom.
And don't give me
>implying buying things brings happiness
That is not what I am talking about.
It is satisfaction of thing purchased, regardless if the thing is something necessary or being bought for recreation.
Probably nostalgia but I feel that a new car buyer in 1990s was more satisfied with their purchase than one in 2020s.
I am sure there are places where the quality of products has gone up and life has become more convenient.
But it could have become more convenient without other things having to start to suck.

this is what people who live in munich for a long time actually pay, around 1000 warm for 50 sqm

theres absolutely nothing corresponding to German rent controls in the USA or whatever you masturbate to, the market rent I what people pay and its far higher. the sole country where rents are cheaper in comparison to income is probably Switzerland, with Japan being comparable.
