I never had friends and i tried really hard to have friends irl but sadly i was bullied through out middle school for just being into sci-fi and mecha but in high school i just never bother to try and make friends after 9th grade. I just watched anime and played stellaris in school. I am now 23 and legit just don't leave my room unless its to go to work or to the gym.

Being a bully is a way to mask your own insecurities. They are kids who just want to make friends that don't understand that you become friends by proofing that you can trust each other. You don't even have to like your friends. Kids in school who hang out together are often not friends, they simply act that they are.
