Why did Dostoyevsky dislike Germans so much? Has he even ever met a German before? I have, and while yes there are real stinkers among Germans I'd say they're in the minority, you could also easily find very sweet and friendly germans who could become your most valuable and beloved of friends, and I personally love them a lot and am very fond of them. Yes I sometimes banter with them a bit but I know Germans had thick skins and don't mind friendly banter.
