900 a month for a nice one bedroom apartment where I live alone.I got lucky. I got this place at the right time, 5 years ago, and it's rent controlled. If my apartment went on the market now it would go for 2000 a month and the landlord would turn it into a dormitory with 5 or 6 jeets. And I would be living in my car because I cant afford 2k a month and I refuse to live with roommates. Don't complain OP. That place may be small but at least it's yours. No parents, no roommates.
