Why are there so many Western Europeans moving to Australia
>>
>>218812551
better than jeets
>>
Because Australia is the only western country on earth that has almost exclusively white people and asians. but they’ll never say so of course, just something about how nice the weather is

I want to find French people to become irl friends with but I fear my francophile autism is too powerful for them
If I showed them my Pléiade collection or ranted about Napoléon (greatest man ever) or Jeanne d'Arc (greatest woman ever) they'd probably be disgusted
Then there's singing La Marseillaise, Chant du départ or Marche Henri IV

I'm training to be a chef so hopefully I can make French friends that way

Have you seen what's going on in the US lately? I moved back to Australia in 2017 and I'm glad I did, shit just kept getting worse there year on year. I really love the US and think it has some amazing shit in it but it's a total mess, not just politically but in a whole lot of ways.

We're lucky and I think people don't realize just how good things are here since they've never been anywhere else. Believe it or not, but we're probably the best Western country left in the world at this point, and that's pretty sad.

>>218812734
I had a work trip in Melbourne two months ago and encountered a lot of Germans in the CBD. It was very strange.
>>
>>218812551
We unironically have some of the best living standards in the western world if you have a certain amount of professional training and can get an above average income

French bro here. We're trying to get away from France. You don't know how bad Paris is now

I drop a random pin on streetview from time to time in other countries and Paris is nothing short of depressing, especially when you choose earlier years and see it decline.
>>
>>218812551
Housing is sort of cheaper when you consider the size of properties compared to Europe. Or it used to be.

Wages are higher.

Ethnic minorities here are less retarded due to skilled visas requirements.

Lifestyle is way more chilled. Weather is better. People are happier and still trust one another. Cities are still nice places.

I remember speaking to some French tourists here once and they were simply amazed at how friendly people were and how safe things seemed

We're the only country on earth with all 3 of
1. weather
2. wages
3. healthcare + safety net

every other country has to cope massively with at least one of those
>>
>>218812862
People meme about healthcare but it's accurate, a family member was visiting me and got hit with a 15k USD bill for an overnight stay. They had travel insurance so it was all covered in the end, but we had to put down a deposit of a few k first before they could get checked out.

Next is things like pay and crime. You get into a bit of a fight here or verbal disagreement and it'll mostly lead nowhere but calling each other a cunt, but over there, any fight could be with someone that's carrying. And people are real touchy and seem like they're looking to fight over nothing. That stuff about the melanin enrichment isn't a meme or a joke. Oh and yeah, pay is pretty bad. Cost of living is relatively low but the quality of living is also lower than here.

I love the scenery and national park and cars and all that shit however, that's something I wish we had more of here. I regret not bringing over the Chevy Suburban I had back there (as you can import personal vehicles) but I didn't really look into it much at the time.

>>218812887
No, they were mid to late 20s and seemed to be having a good time with how different things are here. I only know a little German, so I could only understand so much. They seemed to really like the trams which is cool I guess.
>>
>>218812920
Horrifying. Meanwhile we upgraded our English requirement rules for visas and studying, which sent India into full seethe since a lot of them don't meet the new minimum kek.
>>
>>218812551
I want to leave this dogshit continent and move to the antipodean paradise where the weather is nice, people are fair and opportunities are plentiful. I really think you don't fully realize just how utterly fucked this place is. Please I'll do anything, I'll pick up trash, clean gutters, work in the slaughterhouse, anything to escape.
>>
>>218812962
>he think that'll stop serial scammers and cheaters from finding a way in
>>
>>218812991
Do a working holiday here in a restaurant
>>
>>218812996
If it wasn't effective, it wouldn't have caused as much seethe as it did. Indians might be good at lying but they aren't good at hiding their anger.
>>
>>218812962
Why is it so hard to immigrate to Australia?
>>
>>218812991
Like the other anon said, hospitality is a good one. We have a French hotel chain here called Sofitel, so my advice would be looking into some qualifications and skills for hotel work and applying to work the desk at one of those.

How bad is France now?
>>
>>218813028
We want really really cheap labor or we want really highly skilled people, there's very little in-between. It's also why you'll notice that you never meet any Indians in higher positions, and it's because the people that do meet the high skilled requirement are typically Asian or Euro. A lot of higher ups in banking and real estate are Asian or British for example, and a lot of them studied at Western schools and have properly recognized degrees.

>I think people don't realize just how good things are here since they've never been anywhere else
Very true. However they know things are going backwards, they just don't realise how much worse the rest of the world has become. Australia to me feels like it's 20 years behind the rest of the West in a good way.

Staring a business works too. There's a few Colombian run cafes in Melbourne and all the staff are family members. There's one I go to constantly since the waitress is a 22yo latina with a great butt that always wears yoga pants.

Forget the name since I just know where it is, but it's in Port Melbourne. It looks a bit like an old takeaway place but it's a cafe and is always busy.

I'm not sure it's properly enforced. I did my citizenship ceremony with someone who couldn't speak a word of English. Their did their citizenship pledge by mimicking the sounds word by word.

I'm pulling your leg. The US is a frozen over wasteland right now.
>>

Colombians, Peruvians, and Mexicans have been in the Philippines waaay before mere economic migrants came to Australia.

Peruvians helped us in wars against Muslims.

"Second Book of the Second Part of the Conquests of the Filipinas Islands, and Chronicle of the Religious of Our Father, St. Augustine" (Zamboanga City History) "He (Governor Don Sebastían Hurtado de Corcuera) brought a great reënforcements of soldiers, many of them from Perú, as he made his voyage to Acapulco from that kingdom."

Likewise, Colombians were there in the Andres Novales revolt against Spain.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andr%C3%A9s_Novales

>On the night of June 1, 1823, Novales, along with a certain sub-lieutenant Ruiz and other subordinates in the King's Regiment, as well as discontented former Latino officers "americanos", composed mostly of Mexicans with a sprinkling of Creoles and mestizos from the now independent nations of Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Costa Rica,[8] went out to start a revolt.[7][9] Along with 800 Filipinos which his sergeants recruited, they seized the Governor-General's Palace, the Manila Cathedral, the city's cabildo (city hall) and other important government buildings in Intramuros.

Stop claiming being the Latin American destination of Asia Pacific because they were here first.
>>
>>218813218
Damn, I got too defensive like a fag. My bad.

>The US is a frozen over wasteland right now.
Well it's still January, so I'm not too surprised. I did see something about Texas being frozen or something, so it must be proper cold if it's getting deep snow instead of just the usual light dusting.
>>
>>218813198
We should have tapped into all the Eastern Euros after the USSR fell and now we should be tapping into Western Euros. We didn't even take many Ukrainian refugees.
>>
>>218812838
>I had a work trip in Melbourne two months ago and encountered a lot of Germans in the CBD. It was very strange.
I'm noticing that too. I heard and spoke to so many Germans over the weekend. Even outside the CBD. Would rather have them than others at least. Very civic minded people, would help clean up Melbourne.
>>

I've met some french and irish in the cities but they don't venture out into the country.
Out here in the boondocks we seem to get a few poms, poles, czechs, germans and nordic refugees from time to time. Either tourists or working visas
>>
It's sunny and some jobs are paid relatively highly compared to other countries. This is why Irish nurses move there.
>>
I've noticed that Irish immigrants all smell really bad. Why don't they wear deodorant?
>>
>>218813270
Idk man, I started hearing a lot of slav accents last year and they were always women. I heard men aren't allowed to leave Ukraine and it seems like it's true.

Same tbf id do anything to move to the lucky country and escape this absolute shithole. But they dont want finance wagie and manual jobs over there dont hire yuropoors.
>>218812849
How did you get in?
Been trying for years
>>
>>218813052
It's not quite shithole-tier depending on where you live but you can clearly tell things are only going to get worse. Our productive population is aging rapidly snd our govt importing literally millions of unskilled africans to try and make up for it. Economic opportunities are dwindling, jobs are getting worse (less paid, lower benefits, worse conditions) across the board and no one has a solution because most of the wealth is in the hands of the old. We're basically in a gerontocracy headed towards collapse as the baby boomers are squeezing every last drop of juice out of the active population and replacing them with unproductive migrants. What is a young educated man such as myself supposed to do in this situation? Sit there like a good little slave and give more than half of my income to retirees that earn more than I do, already have their houses fully paid for and enough money in the bank to last them a lifetime?
I happen to live near P*ris in a city that is 80% foreigner (probably more, they stopped counting nearly a decade ago) and I know the rest of the country will look like this in a decade or two, communities of foreigners trying to scam each other, filth and crumbling infrastructure all around. It's grim.

We Filipinos have more Francophone bragging rights than Australians. We actually speak a Romance language like French is for most of our history, and our formative years form 1700s to the 1800s before the Philippine Revolution was spent under rule of the Bourbon Kings of Spain, who were originally French royal dynasty. Furthermore, the First Philippine Republic, in our revolution against Spain Carté Blanche copied the Consitutions of the USA, France, and the Latin American Republics. Yet America and France themselves destroyed us in the Philippine-American War and Treaty of Paris, France, 1898. Here we are, destroyed by the nations we based ouf first Republic upon! Death to America! Death to France!
>>
>>218813117

Fuck You. La Revolućion Française es responsable pour la destructíon dú Iglesie Catholique. The French Revolution and the subsequent Communism that arose from the Paris Commune destroyed worldwide Christendom. We will destroy your corrupt Masonic Revolutions since even when our First Philippine Republic was built off your Masonic French and American Revolutions, you still murdered us in cold blood in the Treaty of Paris 1898 and Philippine-American War. You deserve the weapons you pointed against others be pointed back at you!
