Why do Turkish people I follow on social media post about Ataturk all the time? I don't think a week goes by without them making or sharing a post about Ataturk. Is he like the Turkish Jesus or something?
>>218815605he's the founder of modern turkeyI don't think people understand how new turkey and turkish identity is. They're not the follow up of the ottomans, they are genuinely distinct
>>218815627But why though?
>>218815605because hes gooderdogan (current president/government) doesn't like him and try to erase his legacy
>>218815605Because he is the only reason they aren't like Syria/Iran. It's basically their Thrall.
>>218815982So they are posting him as a sort of protest against Erdogan?I should've known better than to think cute Turkish women were interested in history o algo.
>>218816320he's pretty much the only reason why they have human rights instead of living as cattle like women do in other muslim countries so he's an important symbol and an idol, it's not just a protest
>>218815605every time something bad happens in an Islamist country (Afghanistan, Syria, Sweden, Iran etc.), people remember him and how lucky we are.
