Here you are considered well off if you make 15K.
>>
Why do people just make shit up that can be disproven in five seconds?

Average american makes 40k before taxes (24k after taxes). We are poor. Stop believing US state department propaganda meant to encourage fools to migrate here
>>
>>218827386
40k would make you part of the 1% in Sh*taly
>>
>>218827424
Yeah but rent in shitaly is like $200 a month. Rent in America is $3000 a month
>>
Americans make so much money they dont know what to do with it, which results in dedicated nintendo gaming basement. They do not suffer in new world
>>
That goes to nurses and other high-paying union jobs in states with high costs of living. Most Americans are going to be working McJobs unless they actually know someone.
t. NEET
>>
>>218827444
Lol, lmao even
To rent a single room in any city you may pay from 500 to 700 a month
This country deserves nuclear annihilation (especially the millions of goddamn retirees)
>>
>>218827464
The average American burger flipper has his dedicated mancave, 2 pick-ups and 3 sedans, and a supply of legal and high-quality weed
Amerigods do NOT suffer
>>
>>218827492
I pay 1500 a month for a studio here. The median wage here is 2000 a month. I suffer more than you

>>218827522
Only a stoner can believe something so retarded
>>
>>218827335
no they don't, but also that's like 12k euro. that's not well off money even here. 1000 euro a month is lower than average
>>
>>218827335
I make usually roughly 24-30k when i can hold down a job, but I usually burn out and leave whatever shitjob i've managed to scrape up after a month or two of working
>>
>>218827492
>To rent a single room in any city you may pay from 500 to 700 a month
kek that's nothing. in my flyover shitshole a studio apartment is over $1,000 with most being at $1,500 to $2,000. This isn't even in cities like LA or NYC.
>>
>>218827865
Are you posting this from one of your 5 high-end computers or one of your 3 iPhone 18s?
>>
>>218827941
Yeah but you are paid like fivefold
>>
>>218827933
i usually end up quitting fast gives me the illusion that there's something better waiting for me
>>
>>218828000
No
>>
>>218828037
Just look at Sh*italian median wages
>>
>>218827942
No. I live in san bernarghetto.

>>218828000
US median wage is only like 4k a year higher than shitality. You do NOT svffer in shitaly
>>
>For the year 2024, the U.S. Census Bureau estimates [...] that median annual earnings for those who worked full-time, year round, was $63,360.[2][3]
Not bad but honestly less than I thought
>>
>>218827386
>Average american makes 40k before taxes (24k after taxes).

>>

Literally impossible to suffer in Burgerstan.
>>
>>218828272
More like 80k+ or so. German median is 50k-ish and the US is, well, the US
>>
>>218828244
>mean
Skewed by a rich jews earning 6 gorillion. The median is 40k before tax. Really not much higher than italy
>>
>>218828197
Literally me. That's actually uncanny.
>>
I make about 115k a year pre tax, about 87.4k post tax. I pay $2850 a month for the mortage on my (small) 1.2k square foot home and get $1700 a month renting out one of my rooms to a coworker but I dont charge him for any utilities. I had to pay off 65k in student loans that I paid off while still living with parents before buying my home. I am 30 years old. Thankfully I'm only salaried for 64 hours a pay period (2 weeks)

I'm just cracking 102,000 at almost 28. Feels breddy good because I live in low cost of living area in the South. In northern California, where I lived last year, 102k is just getting by
>>
>>218828436
median is $63k you lying jew >>218828197
>>
>>218828403
21k is the median here. 70k is maybe doing alright in Lisbon, it's very expensive here. If you live in the villages 40k is probably good enough.
>>
>>218828602
1700 dollars for a fucking room? Guy is being ripped off
>>
>>218828756
>Median households income (in 2023 dollars), 2019-2023 $78,538
>Per capita income in past 12 months (in 2023 dollars), 2019-2023 $43,289
That's household v.s per person
>>
>>218828756
Maybe he referred to actual median, not 'full-time, all year round' median
>>
>>218828798
Fuck me rigid. The older I get the more I'm convinced that capitals and hip cities are a meme trap. Absurdly expensive, live among the most degenerate people imaginable, get stabbed by a coloured gentleman
>>
>>218828832
>per capita
this includes dependents, it doesn't reflect actual take-home income. just don't pay for your 12 unemployed abuelas you stupid chicano

the meaningful stat is mean/median personal income:

Believe it or not he was more than happy to take the offer. We live on an island and both make 6 figures. He was paying over $2000 for a mediocre apartment that had asshole neighbors revving engines at 3 am which was 10 miles in the mainland. With bridge traffic his 15 mile commute was 45 minutes in ideal conditions during rush hour and over an hour when wrecks happened which was at least twice a month. He actuslly approached me when he heard I was closing on my home and I just tossed out a number when he told me what he was currently paying and he accepted on the spot with no haggling.

I won't deny that I'm in an excellent position. He can stay as long as he wants

You are not wrong, but I am a software engineer. All software companies seem to love the big cities, so what can you do.
