Are anonymous 4chan atheists like this in your country?
>my personal suffering is so profound it proves that the entire universe is fundamentally evil and meaningless
>no I will not be healed by divine love instead I will to stay in misery and maximize human despair
>I dedicate my life to spreading the anti-gospel of nothingness

I think religious people are usually happier, but
how could you even become religious if you have never had a spiritual experience and grew up in a mostly atheist family?
It just doesn't seem like something you can force.(unless you are an easily influenceable retard)

Faith isn’t a magic cure for all your problems. Life is a struggle for everyone, even the most faithful cradle Christians. The difference is that in faith life is a struggle tending in the direction of spirit in hope, not a meaningless struggle directed at best towards temporary self-satisfaction. We’re not asking you to immediately have the strength of faith that Abraham did, only to be opened to healing.

why your faith and not literally any other tho

The world’s faith traditions are all substantially different from each other. Your spiritual home isn’t chosen arbitrarily. Buddhists believe in resignation in the face of life’s difficulties, withdrawal into a universal state of consciousness. Jews believe in national salvation through works, in the establishment of an earthly kingdom by a coming king and legislator. Muslims believe in bloody universal conquest and global conformity to a new revealed law, in authority. Christians believe in the reception of the divine gift of life in marriage union with Christ, on whose body and blood given for us we mystically feast in the sacrament, on self-acceptance in knowledge of God’s forgiveness given for Christ’s sake, on spiritual brotherhood in that forgiveness, on understanding of the fact that with God all things are possible, that no matter how bad things are or how old you get happiness in this life and the next is possible with God, at every moment.

Weirdest thing about online "atheists" is how they claim only to hate religion because it abuses people o algo but they will still seethe at deism and make all kinds of excuses for every non-Christian religion.
>>
I'm atheist, AMA.

Why do you hate yourself? God made you who you are, made you to know him. Why do you reject this calling that constitutes your true identity?
>>
>>219044559
Which calling? There are thousands different religions in the world.

Christianity seems to be the only one that deals with the key human problems. Sin, suffering, death, reason, free will. It is also the oldest of the current 3 Abrahamic religions. Before you say Judaism, current Rabinnic Judaism is a revision of 5th century texts loosely based off th ancient Torah. Temple Judaism of the 1st century and Iron Age, is extinct, and its practitioners either got wiped out by the Romans or dispersed into the wider Mediterranean gene pool. Islam is just a wacko spin off of Christianity and Talmudism. Ask why they have Jesus as a prophet and venerate the Virgin Mary. “Hinduism” isn’t even properly a religion in the sense that Christianity or Islam is. It is a term invented to describe a collection of books, hymns, folk superstitions, rituals and myths ranging in age from 3000 to a few hundred years old. It has wildly different gods and interpretations and contradicts itself. There is no real central dogma or thesis or calling for its practitioners. It’s just Jeet superstition. Daoism and Buddhism can be interesting but in my opinion hide behind vague notions of “enlightenment” and “desire”. They dodge the human condition and are far more passive in their dealing with our nature.

This isn’t even getting in to the longevity of Christianity, the stability of Christian societies, its near providential triumph (2 billion people and global reach), the documented existence of Christ, the apostles and early Church Fathers, countless lived experiences, documented miracles, and the total revolution it was in human thought and belief. The pagan world that preceded it was based around the appeasement of unseen spirits, sacrificing animals and sometimes people, gods were local, fickle and often very bizzare. People bowed down to idols. Christianity came and said there is one God, he created everything, he has atoned our sins, and he rose again.

I don't know how to feel about the trad religion larp. On one hand, going right is good. But on the other hand, it's obviously ridiculous
>>
>>219045431
Why is it ridiculous in your opinion? There are still tens of millions of religious people in the West alone. Just because the universe is big and we have discovered natural laws, built computers and atom bombs does not mean God is disproven. In an age of political and economic exhaustion and mass nihilism and all other sorts of fuckery, people turning to religions we have been following for millennia isn’t really ridiculous at all.

I appreciate all the pro-western meaning behind neo-christianity, but genuinely believing in that stuff is like believing in santa claus
>>

Suit yourself. I used to believe as you do too. For me it was realising that even the best scientific theories cannot, and will never, be able to accurately give explanation for the fundamental mysteries of reality. Existence, consciousness, death. They can describe the mechanism, often in incredible detail, but not the cause or origin or telos. The jump to a creator of the universe (intelligent design), or some transcendent consciousness then followed from there. Then I began looking for traces that this divinity would leave in our human world and history. And Christianity fit the bill best.

I don't even know if I want to bring up god of the gaps. You do you, I'm not anti-theist
>>
>>219045794
“God of the gaps” perhaps works when you talk about a certain God of a religion. But to me, the first mover, the uncaused causer, the intelligent designer, whatever you want to call it, may as well be called a deity. And since it is necessarily a singularity, it may as well be God (as we understand him). Who is described in monotheistic thought as the ultimate being. Pure being, essence and act itself. This is just my thoughts. When people say “God of the gaps!”, I don’t think it makes sense since what we are talking about sort of presupposes the existence of a God like being.
