Cannot suffer in germoney. These are the french reimbursements, frame on the left and the lenses on the right
State gives you usually 70% (for family medicine) of the base which they defined themselves. Doctors then sign a "convention" with the state which will set their prices to the base. Some are not conventioned, they freely set their prices and are what you can call private doctors. The vast majority are conventioned though.
For optical and dental the base is very low, so you get nothing. To complete the rest we have mutuelles which are private but non profit organizations, usually chosen by your job, especially in big companies. You are free to refuse it and choose another one of course.
If you're too poor/neet/whatever, you have the state one. It's called the CSS (couverture santé solidaire, it was called CMU before), it has bad rates for dental and optical (you will get the shittiest lenses they can find), but they fully cover doctors
