It's not really "doctored", it's because of shutter speed.

Here on the pic how it looks more alike for a naked eye.

One time as a kid there were super bright lights and the entire family went out to look at them. For me it was magical, it shined very bright so you could see clearly in the darkness. But after that I haven't seen so big and bright lights. And if you keep seeing them regularly the magic wears off pretty fast. And I have only seen purely green lights no other colours
