Last summer I was at work and got a text from my wife that the cat died. I was expecting the worst when I got home, a lot of emotion and whatnot, but it turned out pretty well. My wife is originally from a village in the Philippines and grew up raising livestock, she's used to dead animals. She may have loved that cat when it was alive but once it died it was just a carcass to be disposed of, no sentimentality whatsoever. I hated that cat. It was mean, it used to scratch and bite me. I was glad when it died.
