>>219315074To some extent, I agree with you. However, no one wants to suffer needlessly unless it was commanded by God. God didn't prohibit staying in hotels or having good infra at Mecca. Imho, the sweet spot between soul and good infra in the Masjidil Haram was up to the late 90s. After that, the Sauds started adding gaudy architecrure while tearing down historical parts of the mosque dating back to pre-Ottoman times.
