italy has a very conservative food culture, whole american food culture is based on innovation and experimentation. Italians don't understand this and think we're just stupid or we're trying to insult them or whatever.

kek this reminds me of a really early "village people show" or whatever indian channel when some indian trucker was being as scornful as possible about how he wouldn't even feed his dog some packaged tiny unfrosted "western" cupcake and traditional food was so much better than...whatever the snack was
