I wanna be able to afford my own apt and I refuse to live in Massachusetts or Florida the two places my family live

I love Arizona and have lived here most of my life but I'd never recommend anyone move here unless you *really* like the Mojave Desert. Phoenix is perhaps the most depressing urban sprawl on planet Earth and there are literal hordes of crackheads roaming the streets downtown at any given hour, day or night. I've nearly rammed into a few on my cars on multiple occasions because they do not give a single fuck about being hit and obviously never wear reflective clothing at night. If you do move here, avoid Phoenix (especially downtown Phoenix) at all costs. It's basically turned into Cairo.

It's fine here if you can deal with the summer heat. You'll likely have to live in Mesa/Glendale and commute to your job if you're concerned with affordability. I live Tempe, and it's not THAT expensive here, and I have convenient access to to most job centers. If you're a single guy who doesn't want to buy a giant home you can probably afford an apartment anywhere.

Shut the fuck up. Downtown Phoenix sucks because it's hard to walk around but it's gentrified to hell since covid at least. Last time I was there a ton of restaurants were announcing their openings and the ground level of every building between Washington and Van Buren were under renovation.

Is it as expensive as mass or Florida

That's a hard question to answer. I've never been to Massachusetts and hated every second I was in Florida, so I would refuse to live there no matter the price.

If I wanted to guess I would say it was cheaper than the northeast and around the same price as Florida. What really matters is where your job is, and it's pretty cheap and easy to commute in Phoenix.

Clearly you don't live there if you think that's true.

Where the fuck do you live that you think this is true? I spent Halloween walking around downtown and my worst assessment was that it was boring.

I’m a trucker who just dropped off a load in Chandler. Phoenix looks pretty nice to me, fairly new and easy to get around even in a semi, especially compared to Albuquerque which is basically hell.

It's perfect Truck Simulator territory with wide roads and uncrowded highways, true

Northern AZ is nice enough, though in Flagstaff and Prescott you're going to need snow tries.
