Posters added context: OP does not want to talk about the peasants angle; he just wants to highlight his alleged lack of recent Subsaharan and Native American blood; i. e., 'Look, guys. I'm from Brazil but not what you picture most Brazilians to look like.'
>>219408122No, my ancestors were kings, vikings, pirates, cowboys, conquistadors, injun princesses and all the other cool stuff or something
>>219408069whats your point?everyone's family traced back enough is peasents or herders. until very recently those were the only 2 kinds of people

My maternal family ancestry: railroad barons from Prussia, and Dutch middle-class clerks. My paternal family ancestry: mystery farmers with no written records.
That sucks. I can trace my ancestry back to over dozen lines in Scotland that are descended from nobility and interesting people.
>trace family ancestry back to Italy and Spain>The Italian ones owned factories and we're bourgeois, many bankers among them
>>219408169Herder has more aura
>>219409615we live in a world where the farmers and settled societies essentially won and have taken over the planet.the cultural gap between herders and farmers was greater than any inter-national cultural gap today. herder and farmer societies hated each other and constantly fought there's stories of this almost everywhere in the world. some of the only places in the world where herder culture still persists are arabia and even there its dying
I'm simultaneously descended from Irish convicts & a revolution-era French PM who fled the country on a hot air balloon

Not everybody can trace their ancestry to a barony and county like me. Don't worry about it. (((merchants))) killed feudalism so titles don't really matter anymore.

>>219410622It’s very common for anyone actually. As long as there are good records to let you trace a good chunk of your family back to the 1600s, you’re very likely to find nobility—at least if you’re of British desdent. Americans have a leg up because genealogy has been an obsession here for a long time. There are well established genealogical societies relating to colonial settlors in the 1600s, the exact timeframe where you’re likely to find a dozen or so noble ancestors for the average person. The work is already done for you if you can follow your family’s paper trail through the 1800s and 1700s. Look up Douglas Richardson’s work for a good example, or the New England Historic Genealogical Society.
>>219408069So you come from hard working productive people rather than inbred parasites, how's that bad
>>219411669not it's not, i can trace my family to 13 century on my father's sidezero nobility
>>219408069My family is full of jews. One of them was vice president of a pre-WW2 factory in the city I live in and a few were secret police during the commie days.
>>219411880I don’t know much about non-British nobility, so I can’t say anything for France. It’s why I added that caveat. I think Britain may be a little different due to the much smaller population there for most of history before hitting a latter population boom. British genealogy also has ample genealogical sources, like Burke’s peerage and visitations, and good records (idk what France has). Even in Britain, I think it’s easier and more likely in Scotland over England for similar reasons. As for your research, I find it very hard to believe you didn’t find anyone after exhausting every branch on your paternal side. It would be statistically unlikely. If you’re talking about just your direct paternal line, that is only a small fraction of all your ancestors. And it sounds like you haven’t been able to investigate your maternal side very far. For me, my maternal side only has one gateway ancestor while my paternal side had over a dozen proven or plausible gateway ancestors (my paternal side happens to be entirely British though).
Funny enough that just by having a flushing toilet, a warm heater in the cold and an air conditioner in the heat, and a cell phone w/ internet access you are RICHER THAN KINGS AND QUEENS from any time before the 20th century
