i guess they just don't care about animal welfare or some shit there so you can raise sheep on scraps of wood and kill them with an axe to make a jacket

maybe they just have more tanneries and other leather shops? maybe the USA and UK are just not equipped to handle the production of custom leather goods at scale anymore. who knows for sure?
