Singapore vs Korea vs JapanWhere do you want to live?I lived in Japan before, so I have no fantasy about it.I think Singapore will be boring in a week. But the housing policy looks good.Korea is cold in winter, and summer is humid and hot. And there is a lot of stress.
>>219801535if you don't live in a warzone, why wouldn't you live in the place where your friends and familyyou are not going to "find" yourself, happiness is just an illusion that devolves into a hedonistic treadmillthe amount of people who want to migrate so they can eat good tasting food, or engage in some soulless consumerist activity is bizarre to mejapan is the best place in this comparison, but I would never want to live there
>>219801535AC is a thing anonCold or hot you just push a button
>>219802303i moved here to find a wife because i find women to raise children with because one i find the women in my home country to be disgusting and two i dont think its a safe place to raise children but i sort of lost my identity in coming here as i went from being the 'cool guy who knows japanese' to 'guy who can barely speak japanese and who we have to give special attention to otherwise he doesnt fit in' which has affected my confidence and made it hard for me to get along with womeni wouldnt move to korea because i dont know koreanive never been to singapore but with the right job offer i would consider it i guess. dont know mcuh about singaporean culture etc
>>219802459the older i get, the more i feel the community is the most important thing in lifeas a foreigner, the community will have a hard time relating to you, even if you know their languageregarding a wife, women are not all the same in personalityand even if you like how japanese women look, appearance is the most worthless thing in a marriage
>>219802770i agree mostlyi went home for about half a year recently and i was dreading it but the time i spent with my friends and family was some of the best times in my life in retrospectit me it's about having your people, but i dont mean that in a broad sense as much as like, having your inner circleim not very picky about the looks of my wife but i find the normalization of drug use/party culture/tattoos etc in my home country to be far too disgusting to even be interested in women therenot that no one sleeps around here but its not normalized outside of maybe some urbanite circles in tokyo and almost no one has tattoos or has even tried drugs and most people think its insane that anyone would even do thati think its just a matter of time until i can get my feet under me and have a secure life with some good people around me
>>219802951My sense of the japanese people is that they have accomplished so much, because they have established an enduring systemic commune. Because it is so systemic, it is also insular to outsiders >i think its just a matter of time until i can get my feet under me and have a secure life with some good people around meso it's hard for me to see what steps a person would need to take, to accomplish thisbut good luck anon
>>219803202i think as a migrant you have to pass the ‘does this guy get it?’ micro tests people do no matter if its highly insular japan or some place like america with many immigrants, so as i keep living here ill keep absorbing things such that I understand cultural norms to a point i can pass such testsand of course there are people who wont like me no matter what because of who i am, but thats true in my home country too; i just know better how to read and navigate that because im from thereIll let u know how i am in 3 yrs
>>219802384It's not just a matter of ac... ac and floor heating are essential here. You live in a place with a good climate, so you don't know the rigors of the climate here.
