Why are diasporoids so bad at their parents’ native languages?
>>
>be born/grow up in a different country
>why are diasporoids bad when it comes to their mother tongue

Atleast they're trying nigga
>>
who cares
>>
>>219819680
Because they grow up in a society that doesn’t speak the language. But yeah Hispanics that live in Miami or the Southwest and can’t speak Spanish are just sad.
>>
you wouldn't get it
>>
>>219819680
Because they never get taught to read in their parents language. Most of the time they probably don't even know the alphabet/ writing system of their language.
>>
>>219821275
Neither did most people who ever spoke it historically, and yet the language survived. The bigger factor is as >>219819746>>219819777 said growing up in a society where it isn't spoken.

If the objective is assimilation, its a good thing they dont learn it. If they keep their language and their traditions then they would just be perpetual migrants/ outsiders. All the groups, like the Germans, the Poles, they all had to forget their languages to be considered American and to adapt to American culture.
>>
yeah just speak three or four languages from different family trees fluenty bro
yeah I know you have to speak Greek and English because everyone else does, but you should be fluent in Japanese and Korean or whatever too
cmon bro just do it
what do you mean you're homeless because you spent all of your life buried in dictionaries? cmon bro
>>
>>219821591
>because you spent all of your life buried in dictionaries
That's not how you actually learn a language.
>>
>>219821579
>If the objective is assimilation, its a good thing they dont learn it.
Learning and knowing another language doesn't hurt assimilation.
>If they keep their language and their traditions then they would just be perpetual migrants/ outsiders.
It's only an issue if the state uses that as an angle to target specific groups, but considering we've had countless states and empires crack real hard on super assimilated groups countless times it kinda shatters your whole point.
>All the groups, like the Germans, the Poles, they all had to forget their languages to be considered American and to adapt to American culture.
Some people still have ties with it, that and in the case of German Americans they were facing extreme racism during and after WW1 so there was a period they had to downplay and hide their German background and language Native style or face having their beagle that has a slightly longer torso getting kicked by some dumb cunt.
>>
>>219819680
u got a problem with that ese?
>>
>>219821633
you're not gonna learn the less common words if you don't look them up and actually memorize them
>>
>>219821671
It can help on the margins, but the main way you get practical communication skills in a language is by using it- talking with people, reading information that interests you and that you care about, etc.
>>
give me 1 reason why I should continue supporting the russian language
>>
>>219821755
It's a beautiful language and the RF government does not own it?
>>
>>219819680
why do you want a bunch of immigrants speaking a dozen different languages in your country? there's no point unless they care about language learning as a hobby.
