>>219819982It was legally impossible to enter as a refugee without sponsor. Maybe they got lucky and were sponsored by NGO or church but otherwise, no. From my knowledge diasporas in Americas often use their NGOs to get more of their own people inside but the level of organization is much lower among Ukies than Jews. An old neighbour of mine was accepting "help" from a Ukrainian NGO in Toronto in the 90s, and all the "help" he received was simply an address of people who COULD let him rent apartment. Meanwhile Russian diaspora NGO in the same city was literally offering free rooms in a hotel to fresh Russian arrivals. Bet your ass it's even better for Jews.
