As of early March 2026, Northern European Union gas storage levels have dropped to approximately 21.4% capacity (about 336-337 TWh), marking a significant decline due to a colder-than-average winter. While still operational, these levels are lower than in the previous two years, increasing the need for efficient replenishment in the upcoming injection season to prepare for the 2026/2027 winter.

From 2023 to 2026 the german industrial production dropped 30%
