do you have an animal that means ill-mannered in your language?
in Turkish calling someone a bear or an ox is an insult meaning ill-mannered
>>
>>219833033
Donkey I suppose. But it's more like "idiot" or "stupid"
>>
>>219833033
Doesn't really mean ill-mannered, but calling someone a dog is one of the most common insults in Indonesian. It's pretty versatile, but you can use it like how you'd call someone an asshole in English.
>>
>>219833081
yeah donkey means stupid in Turkish as well

for us donkeys are associated with being stubborn primarily
>>219833033
the best I can come with is bears, when you do someone a favor that harms them instead of helping it's considered a 'bear favor'
but it's closer to being inconsiderate, rather than being ill mannered
>>
>>219833033
nobody is well mannered here, so no
>>
>>219833569
what about people from the lake states?
>>
>>219833480
>for us donkeys are associated with being stubborn primarily
in my country goats are stubborn
>>
>>219833033
hamam böceği ;)
>>
>>219833746
old male goats are associated with smelling bad, I guess there is also some association with being hardheaded
a goat is the kind of stubborn that insists on doing things the hard way, a donkey is the kind of stubborn that refuses to do things

>burro / asno (donkey / ass)
>mula (mule)
Dumbass.
>veado (deer, often mispelled as viado)
Faggot.
>galinha (chicken)
A womanizer (in a male slut way).
>frango (alternate word for chicken)
What /fit/ would call a "dyel".
>perua (female turkey)
A gaudy, often older, female with tasteless make-up and dressing style.
>cadela / cachorra (female dog aka bitch)
Literally the same meaning in english.
>vaca (cow)
Similar to bitch.
>porco (pig) / porca (female pig aka sow)
A dirty person, either because he / she doesn't shower or because he / she has unpleasant manners (e.g., scratching the crotch, then eating without washing the hands).
>baleia (whale)
An obese woman, just like landwhale in english, only without the land part.
>>
>>219833033
I'm not sure why but in france calling someone a "blaireau" (badger) basically means he's a classless loser
>>
>>219834092
>whale: obese woman.
>cow: similar to bitch.
>donkey: dumbass.
Wow, Portuguese is soooooo unique :^)
>>
>>219834277
you're the offshoots of neighboring countries, what do you expect?
>>
>>219834441
Could you explain to me what you're trying to say as if I had severe mental retardation?
>>
>>219834537
I'm saying that if your animal stereotypes are similar, it's probably because Spain and Portugal, the countries which have significant influence on the inception of your counter, are right next to each other, in Europe, and share a lot of linguistic and cultural concepts, specifically about the symbolism of animals.
>>
>>219834629
I don't think the stereotypes I pointed out are connected to "similar linguistic and cultural concepts" overall, they are incredibly common across the world.
>>
>>219833033
I remember this artist but I don't remember their name.
>>
Yes, if you call someone a Schwein (pig), it means that they're ill-mannered, dirty, disgusting etc.
>>
>>219833033
in Romanian we just call them 'turc'
>>
>>219835025

we don't have any stereotypes sayings or generally anything at all about romania or romanians (nor vlachs or moldovans or other historical romanian peoples or nations)
>>

A dick is supposed to be a rooster, who tend to be aggressive. An ass is supposed to be a donkey.

>>219833480
Stubborn and stupid means the same thing.
In both cases it's "someone that doesn't listen to what I say".
>>
>>219833033
>>219833081
Here calling someone a donkey means that they are dumb or ignorant.

>>
>>219833480
>bear favor
This is apparently quite common in Europe.
>>
In Poland "moose" is the fool animal for some reason.
>>
>>219833033
We use "beruk mak yeh/mat yeh". Beruk is a macaque used to pluck coconuts. Mak Yeh (Mother Yeh) or Mat Yeh (Muhammad Yeh) are common country bumpkin names. It is not clear why these two names are attached to the Beruk. One story said the beruk was very badly behaved and was owned by the named person. So ill behaved was the Beruk that its owner was tarred as well in the slur.

In some contexts, like around food, Pig.
As others mentioned, donkey (or jackass).
Monkey...not really allowed to say that one though.
