Western societies are very broken in general sadly

The premise of this thread is boring so I'm hijacking it to discuss theological scaffoldings from obscure world religions.
Here's how Baha'i think revelations from God work.

Bahai Faith is interesting.

My only problem with this premise is that it’s putting multiple different worldviews together that have had different origins and evolutions throughout history.

Of course the old world especially has been connected (ie proto Indo Europeans, Silk Road, Spice routes, Abrahamic religions etc) I feel this is too much

Reminds me a little of Hegel’s philosophy with the Geist throughout history.

This is how Mormons see the world

The entire premise of Mormonism is fascinating. It's like the demiurge set up a training program to create middle management demiurges.
I have one for Gnostics too.

Baha'i is an inherently ambitious project as a religion.
I can see why it came from Iran, a country that has both strong ties to Abrahamic and Dharmic faiths historically.
I imagine for Iranians there's still some attachment to their Zoroastrian roots and Baha'i is an attempt to recouncile that with their newfound Islamic beliefs.

God in Mormonism is a lot more complex than the traditional trinity in mainline Christianity. There’s even a Heavenly Mother.

There’s also an Iraqi faith called Mandaeism a modern gnostic faith which may have ties to John the Baptist teachings before Jesus.

According to the Gospel of Luke, Jesus and John were cousins. If John never died. I wonder what form Christianity would have taken if John the Baptist never died. John the Baptist was the closest thing we know of Jesus having a teacher.

There’s an earlier faith called Manichaeism from Iran which is similar in concept to Bahai Faith. The Mani was said to be the final prophet after Jesus, The Buddha, and Zoroaster.

Nice talking to you :D
