A lot of white Americans might claim whatever ancestry but it’s mostly a veneer and their day-to-day culture is a baseline Anglo-American culture, with variations between regions. I think there’s a decent bit in common under the hood that’s not obvious, more so than other European countries. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s easier to interact with British things and media, and I know other Americans do this. A lot of people cared about the Diana or more recently Charles’s coronation.
