Old money would be a simple way of explaining at least some of it. Most of the Fenno-Swedes are from the coastal region, which were the richer regions back in the old days. In addition, most of the nobility in Finland were Fenno-Swedes as well.
Wealth of your parents is usual a good indicator how succesful you will be and I am sure the Fenno-Swedes are richer than Finnish speaking Finns on average. Maybe culture plays into this as well?
