Discovering moderately conservative Anabaptism has been the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. It's like the exact perfect blend of being conservative enough to avoid negative worldly influences without being too insular (as it seems the majority of the conservative Anabaptists unfortunately are).I feel so much better embracing nonresistant pacifism. It frees me from hating, or having to potentially hate, others. Distancing myself from political participation has freed me from viewing politicians as my lords and instead embracing God as Lord. I am no longer a patriot for the United States of America, but a patriot for the Kingdom of God.
