the rise of transgenderism (and by extension the whole gender pronoun thing) was simply the natural end point of the huge social justice push of the 2010s that permeated all of pop culture. Trannies somehow identified themselves as the most marginalized group, so they had to be catered to out of the sjw obligation.I think I can support this by the fact that trannies are actually a very very small population, if you think of how many actually exist compared to how many people supported them during the sjw peak, it's a wide gap. Tons of people were pro trans rights despite not knowing any trans people themselves. That said they're kind of overrepresented in gaming spaces.

The point is that the 2010s were about being an ally to marginalized groups. Pronouns had enough to do with trans rights because it has to do with which gender you wish to be referred to. And of course it has everything to do with trans people, jessica in HR does not need to tell anyone to refer to her as she/her, and we've never needed to stipulate pronouns regularly in thousands of years of communication with each other. So why suddenly do people need to wear it on their sleeve? It's got nothing to do with practicality and everything to do with virtue signaling and being an "ally"
