Koreans ate rice from metal spoon (if you are a rich fag) or wooden spoon (if you are middle class) or hands (if you are poor) since Joseon dynasty.

Here's a funny question:

Korea is the only East Asian culture where it's disrespectful to lift the bowl to drink the soup. However, Korea is the only East Asian culture to not regularly use a larger soup spoon (pic related).

So Koreans in the past spent 10 hours eating a huge bowl of soup with a tiny spoon seen here >>220271455

Why are Koreans so silly?

Also don't forget that the "don't lift the bowl of soup" rule was from a time when Koreans used to eat from a huge bowl of soup. The rule is completely useless now as people eat from much smaller and lighter bowls.
>>
>>220272055
is that why Korean soups/stews are so hot? otherwise it would get cold before they finish it
>>
if koreans are just chinese people who decided to be different just because, why are they so much cuter?
>>
>>220272140
You know, it could be the other way around. Koreans love to eat their soup boiling hot in their earth pots (ttukbaegi), so drinking a lot of broth from a Chinese/Japanese soup spoon would burn your throat.

Maybe that's why Koreans prefer to eat soup with smaller spoons. A lot of Koreans do this "quick sip" motion with the smaller spoon because the soup is really hot.
>>
>>220272156
No we are chinese floridians.
If Florida had time to develop its own culture and language over thousands of years.
>>
>>220272166
But, if Koreans eat soup with a smaller spoon because they don't want to hurt themselves with hot soup, then they should simply eat soup a bit cooler and use a large soup spoon. That's the easier solution.

It makes no sense.

> Korea is the only East Asian culture where it's disrespectful to lift the bowl to drink the soup.

Extremely outdated, no one would care even if you lift the bowl or not unless you're eating with some old men who are like 80 yo or sth.

but still, why don't you use a soup spoon like China or Japan? Eating a whole bowl of soup takes forever with a flat metal spoon

Back in the middle ages and a bit later probably we've had something similar. Your spoon was the sign of your wealth, and you'd always carry your own spoon with you. It was like silver spoon > metal spoon > wooden spoon. But no hands, everyone could have wooden spoon.
>>
>>220272302
Idk, i think it'd be also good to have spoons like that but anyways i just lift the bowl instead.

So the front few bowls are "banchans" (side dish). It's stuff like pickles and kimchi. You usually don't eat all of that and you return some of it back for the next meal.

The main meal is the rice and the soup (big 2 bowls). You usually eat all of that in one meal. Koreans ate a lot of rice and soup for energy, because their food was usually low in nutrition (little meat/protein, a lot of salty vegetables and rice).

The portions of the rice and soup got smaller over time as Korea got richer and ate more meat and less soup/rice.

I'd rather have another new military strongman than resotring monarchy, tho. But anyways monarchy will still better than this utter nonsense cuckmocracy shit.

I think Thailand has both. So just do that.

Joseon's Yi dynasty was a highly incompetent and corrupt Confucian taliban rule. It needed to go.

I do not miss Joseon's monarchy.

In history, a lot of shitty kings were allowed to rule because a lot of nobles in court found it useful to control the king instead of a full rebellion/usurpation

Thats just a parliamentary system. US or ROK have fixed term limits you cant out vote a retard out of office within a set time limit although in both countries you can impeach him or breaking the law like what happened to yoon
>>
>>220272834
Even then rebellions still happened. Sometimes the nobility have enough and fight the crown.
>>
>>220272846
Yea but voting is just an illusion. You have to in the legislature for it to have any effect. These days a bad monarch can be fully held back of restrained not a big deal. Plus good monarchs have an incentive to keep things stable unlike with presidents who only care about stuff while in office.

Well in our politics gooks are routinely impeached or thrown in prison because thats what gooks do: commit crimes.
In USA they havent impeached anyone yet because their leaders arent as retarded as gook ones.

Korean is such an absurdly different language to English that machine translations can't even make it completely intelligible to me.

I do like some of the cultural things. In Korea it seems like it's common to call people "golden spoons" and "silver spoons" and spoon this and spoon that.

>>220271471
Beggar + wapanese otaku. If I spoke Korean, I would surely have a spoon-related insult for you.
