That's unusual. Most just convert, and stop calling themselves Jews.

A small group kept calling themselves Jews, cause they are ethnic Jews. Like, if a black person converts to Christianity, does he stop calling himself black? No. He's a black Christian. They are Jewish Christians. Judaism is their heritage and Christianity is their religion. It's kind of stupid. I think the idea was that they wanted to convert a lot of Jews to Christianity, and thought that it'd be more successful this way.

I'm not sure what descriptor to use, for a less confusing terminology. Maybe something like, Ashkenazi Christian instead of Jewish Christian or Jews for Jesus.

Messianic Judaism is different. Like they keep all the kosher laws, celebrate Jewish holidays and such but still believe in the New Testament.
It's not just Jews who believe in Jesus, because they can describe by blood Jews who assimilate fully to Christian cultural practices.
Personally idk why it's complicated for people.
Christianity is a religion.
Judaism is an ethnicity/culture (also a religion but not always).
You can be both.
