Nobody calls it ukrainian, they all say "rusky" when they ask others about language.

i remember listening to a news story a while ago interviewing a ukrainian doctor who admitted doctors don't speak ukrainian and look down on those who do as lowering themselves to a peasant tongue but this one brave guy was going to change it allstruck me as absolutely ridiculous even coming from our failed attempt at all things language revival, nobody here would look down upon the language.
