If you're a single guy with a job secured this is not true. Maybe like 1-2k for a down payment for a rental in a big city? But that's really it.

I could easily rent out my apartment in São Paulo and rent one twice as big in another city for the same price.
It doesn’t make sense for it to cost more just because I’m moving to a different city.
