Why do the Japanese actually like Americans while Europeans always feel a need to prove they're superior?

Japan has built up a strong culture that is different, and knows that they’ll never be Americans despite all the McDonald’s and iPhones in Japan. Same reason why Russia and the UAE don’t have a chip on their shoulder.
