Would Europe be more beautiful if it balkanized again? Not only the princely kingdoms of Germany but constituent parts of places like Burgundy, Savoy, and Scotland should be self-governing.

not thanks

bavaria is already self governing and thats what matters
>>
Germoney has always been a mutt, stitched-together country
condensing all of those regional identities into one unified "German reich" identity from 1871 onwards has been one big lie
>>
Catholic and Protestant Germanies should be split, at least.

>Landgraviate
>Margraviate
>Burgraviate
what the fuck are these titles? can't they have dukes and barons like everyone else?
>>

No, contary to Italy our kingdoms actually had landborders they had to defend and not a fucking sea around it.

A bunch of small independent ethnic groups is how you get shithole scenarios like sub saharan africa or the titicular balkans. One or two Monocos is fine, but you want some level of regional consolidation.

God, its a good thing that europe quashed a lot of its ethnic minorities when it did in the 1800s, before bleeding hearts cared over much about their (self tormenting) continuity.

You have to imagine all of those pieces you see on that map existed in a space the size of current day Montana
