And look at Japanese media, 99% of fantasy anime is set in settings that look like Medieval Europe, rarely are they set in Medieval or Ancient Asian style places.So imagine when they come to Europe, expecting the whole place to basically be some Disneyland fantasy quaint old world place, with handsome White men and beautiful White women everywhere, and what they actually see is run down shabby, dirty hell where half the people are from Somalia or Nigeria. They realise the cultures that they'd idolised their entire lives basically no longer exist and have been destroyed by savages. an overlooked aspect of "paris syndrome" is the delusional belief that locals are being rude to you specifically. I've personally seen this happen with asian tourists who couldn't handle waiters that had some character and weren't completely subservient to the customer
