the geographic distribution of those numbers seems completely arbitrary
but also doesn't the EU have the same standards for this shit?

Shit's gross

EU standards don't define how much sugar you must put in your soda, at most it would define the maximum amount.

at least for bongland and ireland (and probably the rest) they just additionally throw artificial sweeteners into them which makes them taste pretty disgusting next to giving you diarrhea

Yeah I don't like fanta in my country, the amount of sugar is disgusting.

so every country has to have fanta made for it specifically?
it's a common market so this sort of defeats the purpose

Why would there be so much variance between countries, especially in the EU where directives are supposed to standardise things. Doesn't the company decide how much sugar they want their soda to have and then local producers should put that amount in them. The only reason why it would be different for each country is local law preventing the company putting the amount they want.

>>220406951
Common market isn't as relevant in the case of sodas because it's cheaper, easier and better for the environment to produce them locally rather than ship water across multiple countries, unless the countries are small.
