What are your unironic thoughts on the American Commonwealth of Virginia?
>>
>>220445228
Fucking shithole, especially near the coast.
>>
>>220445228
I never think about it
>>
>>220445228
A real shame about the people who live there.
>>
>>220445317
How so?
>>
ruined by DC wagies
>>
>>220445371
How is Virginia ruined?
>>
>>220445325
They're dixie trash

the greatest place in the world for spring season

I love this state, but NOVA needs to be purged. Between the Yankee transplants and the immigrants, the local culture has been completely annihilated.

It know it has some cool history regarding Roanoke and the Confederates, but I know basically nothing about it in the modern day.
>>
My oneitis' family is from here so I'm a little romantic about it. She actually met me on the way back from a trip there.
Other than that, it's the cradle of the nation. Tragedy it's become what it has though, otherwise I wouldn't mind living there (might end up there anyway some day).

Roanoke is actually North Carolina iirc, Virginia was Jamestown.

It seems cool, I like the more "old colonial" style America and Virginia is the oldest of them all so it's particularly appealing. Very interesting history, genuinely; as an Australian I'm generally interested in the history of other British colonial settlements as well, for obvious reasons.

Yeah, lots of people get Roanoke Island and the city of Roanoke (located in Southwest Virginia) mixed up.
>>
>>220448483
Descendants of the Roanoke settlers live in North Carolina nowadays too.

If you're interested in that I'd highly recommend South Carolina. Charleston is arguably the most intact colonial city in the country with the longest history as well as some of the best seafood. Same goes for Savannah Georgia.
This is the part of the country The Patriot was set in and filmed at.

Technically my homeland (I was born in NoVa when my parents worked for the government), but we moved away when I was 3, so I don't remember it.

Huh, I'd always heard of the Virginian town of Roanoke and just assumed it was on the coast and was where the original colony was. Guess Virginia is even more boring than I thought.
>>
taxes are astronomically high, but at least its better than florida
>>
>>220448507
Virginia is where Pocahontas happened.
>>
>>220445228
I've heard a lot of data centers are being built there. fuck living around that shit
>>
>>220448630
It's also where Loving v. Virginia happened.
Coincidence? I think not.
>>
every single thing i know about virginia comes from listening to car seat headrest.
also i think it might be close to the mason-dixon line
