Why? They were a bunch of barren mountains and hillsides with no value, which is why the Britons fled there

France has the largest genetic distance spread of any other country in Europe however, except for Italy.

wales in the dark ages still had structured post-roman principalities which were better able to resist invaders than the disorganized neo-celtic tribes of england

Britain is a temperate climate (i.e easy to live in) and England is mostly flat land that's good for farming. Also even if it's an island, it's right next door to mainland Europe, it's really not difficult to reach on any half decent boat, so it was always an attractive place for migrating tribes to settle or try and conquer.

You'll notice they pretty much only took the lowlands in both Scotland and England, most of Wales is mountainous/hilly so it was both much more defensible and poor farmland for what the anglos wanted to do (plant crops as opposed to raise sheep).

>>220445299
it's literally part of england, what are you talking about? they don't even get their own state, they are a conquered people

OP is talking about the anglo settlement in the 600-800s, Wales was conquered in the 1200s by Edward I

It's all part of Britain
>>
>>220450572
ok?
>>
>>220450640
There is no meaningful difference between England and Wales and Scotland and it is all part of Britain. The Welsh Tudors conquered England, made Wales part of England. The Scottish Stuarts inherited England and merged it with Scotland. It's just Britain.
