Nothing.

translate picrel if you wanna know a bit more about it but let me just say it's biased since i got it from the senate website, people are calling it "misogyny law" over here
basically the simple act of joking about anything that MIGHT get seen as misogyny to a woman can land you in jail
obviously nothing much will happen to ya but there is still a slight chance you might be the unlucky one if she decides to report you

In Brazil, it is illegal to explain something to a woman.
>>
>>220445794
this "soraya" senator ran for president back in 2022 pretending to be right wing btw lmao
>>
>>220445747
It's a law that equate misogyny with prejudice like racism

You ain't going to get jailed for insulting a women lol. That's a largely boomer thing

>>
That can't be quite right. Especially since you guys keep failing to elaborate on the interrupting part. But if that's true, then holy shit.
>drug-fuelled violence and kidnappings permeate the country
>brazilian liveleak was a meme for ages
>poverty coming out of their ears
>"we need to stop people joking around. that's this country's real point of failure."
Fuck, that's actually pretty brutal if you think about it. We all have incompetent politicians to some degree, but I can't even imagine what living in that must be like.
>>
>>220445865
1.Its not the women that decides if you commited a crime
2. It clearly states hatred and aversion.

Otherwise it'll follow the same path that law usually requires to judge someone, witnesses and so on.
>>
>>220445897
>Especially since you guys keep failing to elaborate on the interrupting part
That part doesn't exist.
It's a thing that started with "influencers"
>>"we need to stop people joking around. that's this country's real point of failure
It's not about joking.
Brazil do actually have massive violence against women. On par with some Arab countries
>>
>>220445924
>That part doesn't exist.
>It's a thing that started with "influencers"
Seems like it's doing a disservice to people who genuinely oppose what's happening. Maybe you should look into the people promoting the false hysteria; they might be in cahoots.
>Brazil do actually have massive violence against women. On par with some Arab countries
So is there a legitimate criticism for this, or is it incels raging because they want to hit women?
>>
>>220445897
everyday normal people are used to violence already plus politicians live in "another brazil" pretty much, they have no reason to care about what actually affect most peoples lives

>>220445905
said "hatred and aversion" is subjective though dude, plus yeah, shes not the one jailing you indeed but the law is obviously gonna be biased to her side even if what shes accusing the guy for sounds like bullshit, people here get jailed or fined for dumb shit all the time
>>
>>220445953
>So is there a legitimate criticism for this, or is it incels raging because they want to hit women?
I think it's mostly incels really.
>>220445956

It clearly isn't
>but the law is obviously gonna be biased to her side
No reason to believe in that at all.

If it's any consolation for you at all, that's everywhere else, too. We don't all have the violence and shit, but every country's leaders have the old, "Rules for me, and rules for thee," approach. Which is shit, but it's always been that way and there's no sign it's ever going to change. People are mad and shout a lot, but it never actually changes, either.

kinda complicated, the law is supposedly made to "keep women safe" because yeah, brazil isn't very safe for women, but on the other hand i've seen so many people talking more about "the incels and red pills" than those who actually make this country less safe for them that is is actually insane
>>220445981
why "it clearly isn't", though?
>>220445992
well i guess it is, i've seen aussies complain a lot online about those in power of their country, it is what it is
>>
>>220445905
>hatred and aversion.
ngl, hatred and aversion is a pretty dang broad catagory. maybe if it just said hatred and it meant actionable promises, but aversion implies even just slight distaste towards which seems pretty far.
>>
>>220446022
>kinda complicated, the law is supposedly made to "keep women safe" because yeah, brazil isn't very safe for women, but on the other hand i've seen so many people talking more about "the incels and red pills" than those who actually make this country less safe for them that is is actually insane
Not suprising. Aside from the diversion of your attention from real, bigger issues, I don't blame them. Any new legislation that's "intended" for shit like this, is often deliberately left vague so it can just be used against whoever you feel like. So it could be the thin end of the wedge for that aspect of Brazilian legislation. So maybe they are right to be concerned from that standpoint.
>well i guess it is, i've seen aussies complain a lot online about those in power of their country, it is what it is
Exactly. And it's the same in the USA, UK, EU, everywhere. Don't get me wrong: I love my country and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. But you'll have a hard time finding places that aren't doing it.
>>
>>220446022
>why "it clearly isn't", though?
It says right there in the text. It makes misogyny equipared to racism
>>
>>220446022
>than those who actually make this country less safe for them that is is actually insane
Redpill is just a new term. Brazil has had violence against women for centuries
>>
>>220445832
You absolutely will get jailed for raycism tho. Macacos are so cucked now
>>
>>220446160
but thats the thing, even a joke can be interpreted as genuine hatred, someone you do harsh jokes with on a daily basis (and who jokes back with you) can straight up just turn on you for no reason and pretend to get offended by it yknow
>>220446179
a new term for something different though, the ones actually making this country worse are out in the streets daily interacting with way more women than your average "red pill" or "incel"; honestly it's not much different from the point the aussie made, even though the law can be useful why do they care more about protecting women only instead of everyone?
>>
>>220446260
>even a joke can be interpreted as genuine hatred, someone you do harsh jokes with on a daily basis (and who jokes back with you) can straight up just turn on you for no reason and pretend to get offended by it yknow
He'll need evidence for that. Eye witnesses
Throwing people in jail for stuff like racism is almost unheard
>new term for something different though
Not really. Domestic violence has been a problem here for years, redpilled merely took that to the internet and tried to normalise it.
>even though the law can be useful why do they care more about protecting women only instead of everyone
Because women suffer much more than men here.
>>
>>220446324
>He'll need evidence for that. Eye witnesses
>Throwing people in jail for stuff like racism is almost unheard
ok, i agree with you on this, good point
>Not really. Domestic violence has been a problem here for years, redpilled merely took that to the internet and tried to normalise it.
definitely has but i have yet to see a supposed "red pill" advocating for such a thing, guess they just wanted to get a term for women beaters without knowing its meaning
>Because women suffer much more than men here.
the thing is that everyone here is suffering from this violence, even if you're one of those politicians i mentioned earlier you will still end up being exposed to it at some point, so why do you still choose to pick one specific group in such a situation? i just don't get it, to me focusing on making laws to try to protect everyone should be a priority, it doesn't matter if you are a minority or not, you're still gonna end up exposed to the violence
>>
>>220446408
>it doesn't matter if you are a minority or not
more like it shouldn't matter who you are, the way i typed it changes my point a bit
>>
>>220446065
>hatred and aversion is a pretty dang broad catagory
You're right, it is. And that's entirely the point. Laws like this are kept broad and vague so they can be applied as liberally as you like. The upside is that although legally questionable, because it can kind of pervert the course of justice, it can potentially be used to catch some genuinely bad people who might otherwise get away with it. But the downside is that it also kicks open the doors for people to abuse it and engage in frivilous accusations and litigation.
>>
>>220445924
I'm pretty sure you have a massive violence problem in general.
But leftists obviously love criminals and refuse to crack down on them so I already know that nothing will be really done.

So it wouldn't surprise me if their "solution" against the violence against women problem would be something like anti toxic masculinity courses because men are evil sexists or similiar rather than targeting the actual criminals.
>>
>>220447447
The solution of leftists against crime is ALREADY here. Right now, it's illegal to be:
>Racist
>Transphobic
>Mysoginistic
>Homophobic
in public. It's not like in America, where being any of those gets you public condemnation and loses you your job, it's a literal, constitutional crime. Yes they won't really arrest anyone besides a few to set examples, like what they did with that argentinian woman, but it's a crime and that's beyond ridiculous.
