>using the movie depiction of king baldwin
>a movie by ridley scott
>the most historically inaccurate fuckwit since mel gibson
That makes sense. Those kinds of people are only playing make-believe anyway. They might as well used a fictional portrayal to represent their fictional activity.

I watched this movie last sunday. I didn't liked that they said Saladin had 200k soldiers when In reality it was closer to 40k

Also the crusader fighting with a arrow pierced through his neck

Ridley Scott I know, but how is Mel Gibson historically inaccurate?
>>
>>220447195
Ask a real question about what actually happened and we'll talk. Until then, go away, kid.

The numerical exaggeration thing is alright. It's a fairly common problem with historical documents from the period. Not just because people were shit at counting, it was often deliberate. You're tricking your men into thinking they have a chance, that they have to fight because the situation is grim, or to embellish your own victory. The neck thing isn't exactly outside the scope of reality, either. It's just that every Ridley Scott period piece is fucked up because for some reason you're not allowed to have a relatively accurate storyline alongside muh spectacle.

Cunt, have you seen Braveheart? His portrayal of Edward I alone was laughable. Let alone some of the shit he was doing with the Scotts. He turned a complex figures with a turbulent origin stories into a cheap, comic book characters for an audience who otherwise would have no interest whatsoever. He could have overlayed that narrative over any fictional shit he wanted. But "based on a true story" looks good for ticket sales.

Hmmm you sure about that
>>
>>220447654
It's not likely, but it's not impossible. I have an easier time believing someone could fight for maybe a minute while bleeding out if the wound was stuck with something, than I do believing Baldwin worse a mask. Especially since it's not documented that he ever wore a mask like that.

He just walked around disfigured?
>>
>>220447722
As I understand it, more or less, yeah. But he still rode horses, fought, shit like that. So he was at least upholding his duties as a medieval warlord.
