One time i went to the area where the theatres are for a show and it was nice. The next time i went there as drivers mate, deliveeing electronic gadgets, in other areas and it was grim as fuck.

Even on a good salary like 100k you'll be compromising a lot on living space and wondering if you'd be happier in a smaller city or commuter town.
