Why did russians stopped being atheists?
>>
>>220461214
>stopped
Sure
>>
Probably just the way they counted it. Socialist/communists are just lying and faking stats for political points (hurr durr everyone is atheist)

And to a smaller degree that Christians outbreed atheists every time
>>
so they can larp as trad christcuckoids to western europeans
>>
Atheism was forced by the soviet government
>>
>>220461214
Eastern Europeans are born irreligious, but people here associate le degenerate VVest with trannies and faggots so they pretend to be religious out of spite

That's in 1991 well after the perestroika
>>

It's actually crazy to think how superficial and fake christianity is in Russia. It's all a LARP, most people stopped being christian 100 years ago. And now we consider them a religious people even though they had banned religion for most of the last century.
>>
Russians are NPCs they had to wait for the state to say it's ok
>>
>>220461341
>though they had banned religion
This never really happened. Soviets realized they couldn't really touch religion and just removed it from the state
>>
Isn’t the ROC an arm of the Kremlin anyway
>>
>>220461377
>Soviets realized they couldn't really touch religion
They could and did
Orthodox leadership were all KGB agents
>>
>>220461214
Because being Christian became fashionable in the 90s. Christianity in Russia is mostly a larp, people will call themselves Christian but they won't observe shit or have any issues with sins like abortion and divorce. It's kinda similar in all post-Soviet states, both Christian and Muslim ones.
>>

>They could and did
They realized very quickly that they could suppress in any meaningful way and that people will still worship and if they tried any harder they would could risk losing power altogether.
>Orthodox leadership were all KGB agents
They did try to have men on the inside but again le KGB is a pretty broad agency and not the boogeyman you probably think it was

He means that today's ROC leadership consists of ex-KGB agents. This is of course only partially true, but the current patriarch did work for the KGB, yes.

"worked for" is a pretty broad statement. he allegedly worked to influence the World Council of Churches on behalf of Russia in Geneva but I doubt that's unique to Russia or surprising

>he allegedly worked to influence the World Council of Churches on behalf of Russia
No, he's much more specifically accused of being a spy during his work in Switzerland. And after the USSR fell, he did a lot of shady business with known criminals. You can see how his career trajectory is remarkably close to Putin's.

No I literally posted all he was accused of

>Why did russians stopped being atheists?
The gringos fear them though...
